ABOUT OUR FARM

Section 17 Livestock is a family owned and operated farm, situated near Melville, Saskatchewan. Section 17 started when Travis purchased his first purebred bred heifers in 2008 after taking over the family farm. With the addition of some commercial and purebred females, it has since turned into 120 head cattle operation with over half being registered simmentals.

Our goal at Section 17 Livestock is to produce functional Simmental cattle for the beef industry. Although we are new to the purebred world, we strive to produce easy-fleshing, structurally sound, good uddered, and easy doing cattle. We continue to purchase herd sires from other progressive breeders in the industry. We also have implemented an AI and embryo transplant program to integrate the leading industry genetics into our herd.

We currently sell bulls and heifers off farm by private treaty. 

At Section 17 Livestock we feel incredibly lucky that we get to do what we love. We are extremely passionate about the Simmental breed and are glad to be a part of an exciting industry. Above all else, we enjoy the people and encourage anyone who is interested to give us a call or stop in.
